If you have ever heard the term "quantity surveyor" and assumed it simply means someone who measures and costs a building — you are not alone. Most property owners do. But on any construction project, there are typically three distinct QS roles in play, each working to a different agenda. Understanding which one is which could be the most important thing you learn before starting your next project.
